  Overview... The Weirdonian Imperial Conglomerate, also known as simply "The Conglomerate" or "WIC", is an interuniversal nation native to what has been designated as the Weirdonian Universe and is comprised of nearly three hundred and fifty interstellar nation states in the Weirdonian Universe and the Ormaran Universe. It shares borders with the U'Khan Dominion, the Tolshanithan Order, the Koln Cooperative, the Korln Imperium, the Iz Colonial Union and the Artorian Imperial Systems. The WIC is a Constitutional Republic with it's capital city located on the planet Weirdonia located in the Skotak Galaxy of the Weirdonian Universe. The WIC is comprised of over one hundred million star systems and it's population estimate numbers currently at 400 trillion sentients, making it the second most populous interuniversal nation. The original WIC was founded by the Munojad over ten thousand years ago on their original home world of Mu-Prime as a single-planet alliance made up of several Munojad nation states on Mu-Prime at the time. The WIC has not existed continuously as it has been conquered and devastated by war on a few occasions. However, the Munojad have managed to keep the spirit of the original WIC alive in spirit and in practice, refounding it twice after such catastrophes. Today, the WIC has emerged as one of the most stable and powerful nations the known Multiverse has ever known, a superpower in it's own right. Government... The WIC is a Constitutional Republic governed by representitives elected by each nation allied under the WIC's federal government. The federal government is segmented into four branches: the Senate, the Legislature, the Judiciary and the Military with checks and ballances that make sure no one branch completely dominates the federal government. The Senate acts as the executive branch under the reasoning that no one sentient entity should be alowed that much power. The Legislature enacts laws and bills that the Senate reviews for final approval. The Judiciary ensures the citizens of the WIC will be treated fairly in courts of law. The Military is controlled by the Senate through a suprime military commander called a Legus whom oversees the entire WIC military from the star fleet to the ground forces. Economy... The WIC runs under primarily a capitalist economic structure, but it does impose restrictions on economic growth to prevent corporations from gaining undue influence within the government. However, economic structures can varry somewhat between the allied nations of the WIC.   |
